Mid week Logan

Was a good night for the Wednesday night season opener – looks a lot like F1 is going to be the main class on a Wednesday night, although there was a  strong contingent of 21.5 blinky drivers there as well. Mod and 17.5 had small numbers and there were a couple of Mini rolling around.

We all knew it was a hot day but who knew it was going to be blowing a gale, at one stage it was one hand on the transmitter and one holding on to the drivers stand – but we all survived.

In F1 Brad Hall got the TQ (he paid more than me ) but I got the Final so it was smiles all round, finally we have F1 cars that are driveable and even enjoyable to drive.

Looking forward to Saturday night and running the TC. But for today it’s the GCRC and Version 2 track reopening.

Was a very fun night indeed. Lots of laughter was heard coming from the drivers stand. With 7 F1 cars, what a sight to see!

For the low grip conditions, Heavy’s F1 performed well and sailed through the corners nicely. Brad and myself had trouble keeping up with him most of the time.

Brad’s F1 was really nice to drive too. He handed me the transmitter in the practise session prior to qualifying. In qualifying Heavy, Brad and myself had some fun battles. The conditions were challenging.

Unfortunately I had a few dramas with my F1. I had installed a brand new aluminium drive shaft and first time I spun it up, it appeared to be bent, but not too bad. One drive and one crash, the drive shaft was now severely bent. The top suspension arm had also cracked at the top ball joint, so it was popping off through the night. None the less, I had a ball still.

I look forward to Saturday night, hopefully we get a full field of F1′s again!
