All dry days make a desert – but gee we’ve had enough

It’s Thursday and we are in the wet weather doldrums, even our indoor offroad track is struck down by the rain (well the transponder system is struck down presumeably by moisture or some other gremlin), racing Saturday at Bayside is looking increasingly unlikely, the only people having any fun are the drifters at Archerfield, and that’s closed Thursdays.

Anyway noone has any excuse for a lack of maintenance when we do finally get to race again all cars should be in pristine condition.

What to do today.

  • Well there’s a Tamiya Supastock that’s got to have a ESC, Servo and motor put in it.
  • There’s a Associated Worlds Car (Vintage) that should be finished off now that Ben has painted my bodyshell – a brilliant job, box art replica, can’t wait to get it on the shelf.
  • The Cougar SVR could do with a overhaul after quite a few months as my weekly hacker at GCRC
  • I would build a F1 if shipping from Thailand wasn’t taking ages on the next batch – spose I could paint the body for it.
  • The VTA Mustang still needs a esc, motor, reciever installed – that could happen today. (and maybe wet weather tyres)
  • More maintenance on Shane Hydes borrowed CX.
  • The caravan needs work but I’m not crawling under there in the rain.
  • TV – mmm there’s a thought.
  • RC Jet Boats could be the big winner.

Yes I also have pulled most chassis apart, rebuilt, rewired, replaced, changed, changed again, looked at changed back, pulled out servo’s, changed speedies, changed motors.

even got the old “next generation” Corally F1 rebuilt, trimmed tyres

one more night of it and god knows i may have to buy an Off road chassis
    just to get a run.

    Boored Sh—-tless

Well the VTA is getting a 540 motor and brushed ESC – this will be easier to waterproof before this Saturday because I am going racing on Saturday.

I had a set of rain tyres hanging out in my garage for a year waiting for this very moment – but where are they today – gone – noone knows where. Did I throw thwm out by mistake in a mini cllean up of worn onroad tyres I had recently – I hope not but looking likely. I knew there was a good reason never to tidy up the garage.

OK DAVE they tell me you have some pull with those how know, time to put some pressure on and STOP THE RAIN.[I AM ALL RAINED OUT]

Sorry Wayne I got it wrong – I was trying to get Bunnings flooded so you could get some days off. Probably too late to stop the rain that’s on the way.

Well V8′s are on tv this arvo from Clipsal so if you’re looking for me …..

Going to be an interesting season – at heart a long time Nissan man but I’m sticking with Ford this year, not a lot of faith in the Kellys.

F1 now there’s a thing, who are we on this year – the Australian in me says Mark Weber but I love Renault so torn between a few teams.

    one word Heavy…..Fernando….Forza Ferrari!

  8. Duncan Donuts says:

The brushless motor for my boat has arrived to replace the nitro engine.

Looks like I will have plenty of time to fit it while watching the V8s in the rain

I too am a Nissan fan at heart but cannot possibly follow the Kellys. Looks like I will be torn between Will and Craig, both good guys.

I think our F1 Guru xray karl’s prophecy will prove correct! A bit tired of Sebastion. Should you not still be Tamiya Karl for F1? I am sure you will have already changed that red Bull body to Monza red!

  9. heavy says:

Once I was Ferarri but not any more – not since they CHE….

  10. xray Karl says:

too much rich history heavy for grudges.

you are right Mr Donuts, I should be Tamiya Karl for the F1. I’m trying to get a hold of the F2012 body set as it will look a treat on the track…assuming this weather ever changes and we can get the cars on a track.
I fear I’ve forgotten what the track looks like

PS He won at the Clipsal
