Brendale 27th Nov - Inaugural Interclub Champs.
The Inaugral event was quite successful and the 2004 Championship club is the Brendale club.
The organisation and the racing were first class and certainly most drivers had a great day and praises flowed for both the track and for the racing.
I personally had a good day for two reasons - I made the A final in pullstart and had the pleasure of watching Jason Dorn run my Schumacher for the day in the Stock class and place 2nd in his first electric drive - here is a champion in the making.
That was my last race meet for 2004 so catch you all around teh tracks next year. Have a safe and happy Christmas
Heavy D
Bayside 14th November.
Another superb meet at Bayside. Gee it's impressive the way those guys handle a meet nowadays. 80 odd cars turn up to race and the meet goes off without a hitch and more or less right on time. Even with Mark Richards as sick as a dog he still does an unflapable job - well done guys, great to see and be a part off.
The driving in Gas Tourers was of a much higher standard than the previous week which was good to see and I think in most classes it was pretty good. If you are looking for a good cheap Gas Tourer see my for sale page I have a few second hand but good things at the moment.
That's my racing at Bayside for this year as next raceday my grandson Jack will be Dedicated so I will miss that day and for teh trophy day the following fortnight I will be on holidays. My last race for 2004 will be the Interclub at Brendale on 27th and I am really looking forward to a run at Brendale again.
Bayside 31st Oct
Well yes there was a race meet at Bayside on 31st and it was numerically a surprisingly big one with about 70 something entries I guess.
From my perspective the meet was tarnished by a couple of issues. Why people can't come out to marshall without having to be called every race is beyond me - especially experienced racers who wander out after being called, holding everyone up and don't know where their marshalling position is - really guys how hard is it?
And the final of the Gas - well in 20 years of RC I have never a race as bad as that the driving was absolutely attrocious - well it was for the first 4 minutes when I withdrew - don't think it got any better after that either. Don't think I'll be racing gas at Bayside again if that's the standard.
In electric I raced in stock and was trying some things out and never really got going - for some reason my car was a little off the pace and I'm wondering if it was because I had already charged my batteries twice the night before for the enduro and then again in the Sunday for racing - might have been a bit much for them - ended up 4th in the final. In electric I raced Gas and my comments above probably reflect my feeling sfairly accurately.
Full details on the Bayside website.
BAYSIDE 17th Oct 04
Another fine day of racing at Wynnum. the numbers were down a little on recent times (around 50 i think) but still very strong - especially in Nitro.
I ran stock electric (my only mod is dead) and gas tourers and had a ball in both. Ran out first in Stock and second in Nitro but not without a fight in both classes.
The interest for me at teh moment is in comparing teh times of my stock car and my pullstart car. So far the electric is just ahead on lap times (18.23 v/s 18.27) and total times (16 -5.0507 v/s 16-5.0579) but there is not much in it. Next meet I've got a couple of things to try with the nitro that might just make teh difference - I'm still not driving teh R12 that confidently which also doesn't help.
BAYSIDE 26.9.04
That was one awesome electric touring car race day. Qld Titles practice or not it was a great race in it's own right with 6 of the top stock racers going 17 laps and the two best 540 drivers going 16 laps and 4 mod guys getting into 18 lap territory - great stuff guys it was great to be a part of it even if I won't be at the Titles (Friends wedding in Newcastle).
My tips for next week are lookin a bit shaky
540 I tipped Brad and today Brad top qualified but Kirk won teh final
Stock I tipped Adrian and he came8th in teh B (Hopefully teh trouble will be located and rectified)
Mod I tipped Scott and he was not there today but from what I've seen I have no reason to change my mind. Anthony And Keith were hot today and Peter has found some form as well.
As I said a great day with records tumbling everywhere, bring it on.
Have a great Titles meet guys - race hard and fair - and enjoy.
Bayside 19.9.04
Who said it was going to be a quiet day - 81 entries proved them wrong. However the procedings got under way well and we were into the finals by 2.45 which is a considerable improvement on recent times.
Racing was pretty hot in all classes but both marshalling and racing were much improved on recent weeks as well.

Next week will be a electric only warm up meet for the State Titles. We will be running staggered starts (3rounds) with a regrade after two rounds and then finals just to make sure we have a handle on the computer for the Titles.
If you are looking for Sorex I will have heaps of 36 and 32 at the track next Sunday or you can collect some from me during the week - give me a call
Just for something completely different 1/12th and F1 next Saturday from 12 noon - finish in time for you to go to Logan.
BAYSIDE 5.9.04
I thought that Fathers Day might have discouraged a few but not so - 76 turned up to have at it. 2 heats in 540, stock, mod and Gas tourers and a full heat of open gas set the scene for a mammoth day.
Mostly the racing was fairly good but there are still a few who want to win on the first couple of turns - get serious guys and live through the first lap so you can have a serious go later in the race.
Naturally as Scott TQ'd and won Mod I will have to have a little brag about Schumacher. Seriously the car is bog standard, no after market stuff or aluminium extras etc nothing but tuning on the chassis using the standard adjustable bits that you get with the kit. Also Scott uses Australian matched 3300's nothing fancy there and he only has one mod motor (Revolution 9 single) controlled by a Novak TC2 and using a cheap am Futaba radio but a quicker Futaba stering servo. All day he used Sorex 36 and no tyre warmers. he did 2 races on c medium inserts and 2 on B mediums
Fastest times prove my point that races between Open Gas / Mod and Gas Tourers / Stock would be worth a look one fun day.

Next racemeets at Bayside 19th Sept. 26th Sept (Electric only) 1-3 Oct - Qld Electric Titles.
LOGAN 28.8.04
Yes there was a race meet at Logan on 28th. Very poorly attended and finally curtailed prematurely by the threat of rain and an electrical storm. One round was held and I have no idea who won the electric races. There was only one heat of Nitro and it was a combined pull start / Open group - 3 of each. I managed third behind two open cars (Jason Dorn, Grant MacDonald) so was happy with that - the OS has a lot more poke than the Force 12 I had been using, can't wait to try it around Bayside next weekend.
Next Sunday being Fathers Day the entries at Bayside could possibly be down a bit.
BAYSIDE 22.8.04
Another 76 entries made for another long day. Not helped by a printer that wouldn't print until we got a bigger hammer delayed the start by 30 mins. We got through the heats pretty good and sorted the finals quickly - I had to leave then so not sure what happened after that but something sure delayed the finals from what I have heard.
I was happy to qualify 2nd in Pullstart although I think I had the slowest straight line speed the handling is good in the Schumacher - final would have been good if I could have stopped for it. Really enjoying Nitro racing at the moment.
The modified performance wasn't as good. I am basically too lazy for mod and expect to get a few weeks racing without a retrue like I do in stock but it doesn't work that way. I'll either have to get my act together or get a Revolution good for 30 runs or go back to stock. We'll see. Looks like Scott will race Bayside next fortnight and Keith I've heard so I might desert back to stock for the week and see how I go there.
Had to leave early so don't have any results this week sorry.
WINTER CUP 14th AUG - MEAKIN PARK
Was a good day for most, a good crowd (66 entries) and in the main good driving with very few incidents to note. Most people seemed to be happy at the end of the very long, windy and dusty day.
The only down side was the wind - it blew a gale all day - at one stage the computer and printer got blown right off the desk and I had to hold the paper in the printer all day and clear 3 million 2 hundred thousand paper jams - no kidding.
Winners are grinners and the biggest grinner of all was Jason Dorn. Jason won both Gas classes to give him a clear win in the Winter Cup as well as the Top Junior award.
Electric winners were Keith Mackrill in Mod, Justin Hughes in Stock and Kirk Peacock in 540.
Bayside 8.8.04
Massive - that's the crowd size not my shirt size by the way - another big day out. 75 entries certainly tested the new computer system and operators and made us all think about ways to get the race meet happening smoother and quicker.
Can't tell how the finals went 'cause I had to leave before most of them ran but of interest can say that there were 3 heats of 540, 3 of Gas Tourers, 2 of Stock, 2 of Mod and 1 of Open Gas. If you made the A final in 540 or Gas Tourer then take a bow.
On the darker side I saw quite a bit of corner cutting going on throughout the day - massive corner cuts or whole loop cuts - one in particular leading to a TQ run in one class and in another case it was in the finals where a loop was cut 3 times by the one driver - apart from leaving the race director to see everything we will have to find a way to stop this bad sportsmanship.
Hobby Station 7.8.04
This was round three of the Racing Lines Cup for 1/12th and the Action R/C Cup for F1. The roll up was a bit disapointing - 9 x 1/12th and only 5 F1. What we lacked in quantity we certainly made up in quality and there were some fine cars and some great drives.
Brett Ryan cleaned up the F1 but the wisper is Darren Perry is getting his F1 out of mothballs so watch out Brett.
In 1/12th Anthony reproduced the form that won him more than a few credits in Tamworth recently and blitzed the field, bad luck award to Kirk who had run faultlessly all day and was comfortably in second when the old "hung brush" curse got him.
Hobby Station are getting new track markers and a new layout in the next couple of weeks so probably give that a go for round 4.
Logan 31st July.
Great racing this Saturday night. The best Mod races seen for awhile - not the numbers but the closeness and quality of racing was superb - so many different chassis brands as well. I think 3 different people won the heats and Keith had to really turn the wick up to take the final - great stuff.
The Stock and 540 both had 2 heats and the competition in both classes was intense Martin won the 54o in his Corally and I think John Perkins won the Stock with a HPI.
The Nitro numbers were down as you would expect with the Qld Titles on at Brendale but we still had enough for a composite pull start /Open race. I enjoyed the racing and the Schumacher / Force 12 was percolating very well for me and I managed to win the final.
Great stuff and we are all looking forward to the Winter Cup in two weeks. Entry form here don't miss it.
Bayside 25th July
What a fantastic day. Great racing, great company, great weather, great drivers stand.
I raced Mod with the Mi2 and had a mixed day to to motor problems but did enough to qualify 4th which I was happy with - didn't get to run the final as my motor quit - don't know why yet. A win to Big Mac from Andrew and Peter (yep Peter Dooley raced onroad at Bayside- you read it here first).
I also raced pullstart with the R12 and the same old Force 12 motor that didn't cooperate for even one lap at Logan last week. I did a fair bit of work on the clutch during the week as the experts told me that was a fair part of the problem - anyway I did 4 races including the 10 minute final without a flame out or any other problems - sort of renewed my enthusiasm for nitro. My motor is still very slow compared to some others in the class but the car handles so well that I was able to keep up. Qualified 3rd and finished 2nd behind Jason Dorn - definitely had the best pit crew in new Nitro sniffer, Big Mac - thanks mate. if I ever get a motor close to the .8 horsepower limit who knows what could happen.
In Open gas there was a great race in the final which was good to see as there is usually daylight between the cars. In this case Jason Dorn won the race but the dice for 2nd 3rd and 4th was split by 1 second with Alan Bevan running out ahead of Big Mac and Phil Ward. Big Mac was having his first hit out in Open Gas and his second race day at Wynnum so was stoked to come third in the final - mostly down to the pit crew I rackon.
Really have no idea who won the other two classes suspect Justin won 540 and Chad stock but that could be way out.
Was a good day - 61 entries. the new drivers stand is high man and a great view of everything - the PA system doesn't work too well up there so that is an area we will have to work on.
I had no problem with traction at any stage through the day in either mod electric or pullstart. For those interested in such things - in mod electric I was running Sorex 32 all day and in pullstart Sorex 36 all day. I was using B medium inserts and cleaning my tyres between races with a Trinity rubber tyre cleaner (others in my group were using WD40 to clean their tyres with similar effect) I used no tyre warmers all day and in both cars found I had plenty of grip from lap 1 right to the end - even in the 10 minute final.
Bayside 11th July
There was a massive turnout of 67 entries today at Wynnum. Great stuff and virtually meaning you had to race to get a spot in the A final in every class except Mod electric where there were only the 8. I raced Mod for the first time and only used a 19t super stock but it was great - I think I'll persevere with it rather than go to anything bigger.
I also raced pullstart so was busy and there fore can't tell you who won anything. I had to leave early because of another committment so missed most of the finals including my own.
Stephen came for the first time at Wynnum and was instantly a convert and plans to make it home. He raced the Mission 1 and was very pleased with 5th in the A final.
I was pleased to qualify 3rd in the pullstart behind Jason Dorn and Big Phil and real disapointed not to be able to run the final. The Force 12 I was using must have been the tamest motor there the way people were blowing past me on the straight. But the R12 had the goods in the infield allowing me to finish well. Looks like another OS or Thunder Tiger might be on the way.
On the 17th there is a working bee from 7.30 in the am to start the erection of the drivers stand - it would be good to see the 57 people turn up for that too.
Yeronga 9.7.04
The numbers were down again (23) which obviously means the advent of Hobby Station has about halved our numbers. Still we had raceable numbers in all classes except f1 where we only had 3.
The guys seemed to enjoy themselves and the final in Pro went down to the wire and the novice was a wild and wooly 10 car event. In Masters Scott Harris was elated to TQ but Adam Snook was too good in the final.
LOGAN 3rd July
The track cleaning didn't happen due to the water being disconnected for some obscure reason so it will happen later. The track was slippery but after a couple of races it wasn't too bad.
There were only 6 nitro cars altogether 3 x open and 3 x pullstart - where are you guys ? We ran them all together and Steve Dennis got the TQ just edging me out but I got the 10 minute final - thanks to a great pit stop strategy and slick work from Big Mac. I ran the R12 with a Force 12. Still waiting for my Fantom Crankshaft to arrive.
Think there were 2 full heats of both 540 and Stock and one full heat of Mod.
Sorry but I have no idea who won 540 (I'm thinking it was Brad P from Bill Stafford with Clinton TQ) and Stock but Keith won Mod as usual. Interestingly enough Big Mac ran rubbers all night and by the final his Corally was looking quite good.
TAMWORTH - WINTER CHAMPS
That was a fantastic weekend. The racing was great, watching the World Champ lapping the field of Australia's best, catching up with some old friends and making some new ones. Frustrating in the extreme with the computer delays but even that could not take the gloss off the positives.
I raced my Mi2/Core/Feral Packs in Stock along with 54 others including some legendary names and some young hot shots, needless to say that after 3 rounds of heats, when I found myself in the B final, I was absolutely stoked. Adrian Beggs and Clinton Livingstone were also in the B with Keith Mackrill the only Queenslander to make the A. Bob Vardy was in the C and Jason Elton in the D - we had no Queenslanders in the E, F, G. The finals were held at night and my eyesight wasn't up to the task (the lights are less efficient than Logan ) and I had a major crash into pit wall breaking a front arm. Keith went on to finish 2nd outright - a great result.
Scott raced his Mi2 in the modified (control rubber tyre and insert) and without practice (we didn't get there till Friday night) struggled for setup and finished in the C final (no disgrace incidentally).
In pullstart I made the A final (R12 and Force engine) and was pleased to finish ahead of the two guys who beat me last time I went there. The 30 minute final was a hoot and I made it up to 3rd until I lost my bodyclips and then my pipe - oh well live and learn. Scott raced in the open nitro with the Cen and a Fantom pull start and was rather out of it in the power stakes.
In the Nitro open Surakan was impressive but not quite as impressive as our old friend Simon Camileri who managed an upset with a win in the 30 minute final - great drive Simon.
In the electric A finals Surakan was untouchable and lapped most in all 3 races. Andrew Abbot was also impressive and I thought was the best of the rest. The World Champ was very approachable and was willing to chat with all and any who made the effort.
The track is fantastic and the main problem is the drivers stand which is positioned too close to the track and too far to one end. This is due to be rectified soon with the stand being moved further back and lengthened. The club has a new computer which took a spike over the weekend causing irregularities in the clock, with this fixed and more practice with Alycat future meetings are looking good.
I'll be going back for the Tamworth Cup in May 2005.
Logan 19th June.
Well it was on again off again on again and finally we had 2 heats and the lights went out for good. What can I say - disappointing - you bet.
WEEKEND 11-13th June
Friday at Yeronga we had a smaller group than usual but still had meaningful racing in all the usual classes. Good fun.
Sunday 13th Bayside.
A fair roll up with two heats in Pull start and Stock and One heat in Open Gas and 540.
540
TQ and 1st Tony Chilcott, 2nd Michael Peace, 3rd Brett Stares
STOCK
TQ and 1st Scott Guyatt, 2nd Adam Snook, 3rd Bob Vardy
Qualifying was a great battle with Scott the only one to go 17 laps and the rest of the mere mortals going 16 laps - 6 seconds slower than 2nd was in the B final - that's tight.
For Scott's setup for the Mi2 go here
GAS TOURERS
TQ Russel Stonley
1st Bruno 2nd Russel 3rd Wayne
OPEN GAS
TQ and 1st Jason Dorn
2nd Phil Ward 3rd Lindsay.
WEEKEND 5/6 June
A very quiet weekend for us. There was racing at Logan but unprecedented interference put me (and some others) out of racing after a couple of heats. Personally I don't think I will be racing at Logan much in future if they insist on spraying the surface with sugar water. The surface there was always good with plenty of consistent traction, which it certainly wasn't last night - seems a shame to ruin what was a good race meet with that junk.
Stock Tourers
1st Adrian - Mi2
2nd Sam - Yokomo
3rd Martin - Corally
540 Tourers
1st Clinton - Yokomo
2nd ???
3rd Bill - Mi2
Weekend 29-30 May
Friday night - Yeronga. First night of a new season and a good competitive turnout. This year we race in the following classes
540 Novice - where everyone starts
540 Pro - where you go when you graduate from novice
Masters - stock motors and foam tyres - our fastest class
F1 - the great fun class.
Saturday arvo - Logan F1 and 1/12th
Logan was a slippery as it can be in the daylight with grip only coming up a bit for the finals. Lots of broken cars today for some reason. A slightly stronger entry than the first one but still well short of where we would need to be to call it a legitimate Race day (9 - F1 and 7 - 1/12th ).
Big Mac won the 1/12th from Alan Bevan.
Brett Ryan won the F1 from Stewie Milton.
Saturday Night - Hobby Station
Someone who went give me a story please.
Sunday - Wynnum.
A good days racing with slightly less numbers than usual (16 electric and 24 gas - what's going on here electric guys?)
Open gas - 8 entries. TQ and first Jason Dorn - with a broken arm do you mind
2nd Andrew Christie 3rd Phil Ward.
Gas Tourers - 16 entries. TQ Bruno Garcia 1st Russell Stoneley (how good is he going now? )
2nd Bruno 3rd Andrew Gibson
Stock Electric - 6 entries. TQ and 1st David Guyatt
2nd Shayne Pearce 3rd Andrew Lyons
My apologies to all the guys I took out on the first corner after clipping the grass and causing absolute chaos especially to Andrew who got hung up on the grass as a result, with two marshalls who couldn't decide which of them would marshall Andrews car. To his credit he drove back from a distant last to finish third.
540 Electric - TQ Chad Johanson 1st Justin Hughes
2nd Chad Johansen 3rd Michale Peace
Weekend 22-23 May
Tamworth Cup was a great racing weekend and a great time to catch up with old mates and socialize a bit. Scott and I had a great time together and even won some races.
Our results were generally very satisfying
David - Pullstart 2nd in A final (R12) and stock electric 2nd in B final (Mi2)
Scott - 6th in Open nitro (CEN) and 4th in Electric mod (Mi2).
All the cars went well except Scotts Nitro wouldn't fire up at teh start of the A final for about a minute (15 minute race).
WEEKEND 14-16 May.
How big was that - hands up those who did the whole program - not many and if you did you probably feel like me now - stuffed.
Friday night - Yeronga Enduro
Saturday morning - the Chargers AGM
Saturday Afternoon - the opening of Hobby Station
Saturday night - Logan rain catch up race
Sunday - Bayside
Wow if that's not enough of an RC fix for the week you are in real trouble.
At the opening of Hobby station it was a Schumacher Mi2 (Stuart Pearson) that won the first ever final - great stuff.
I've got no idea who won anything at Logan - my mind was on other things.
At Bayside it was a great meet, some more very close racing.
540 TQ Michael Peace. 1st Tony Chilcott
Stock TQ Justin Hughes. 1st Andrew Lyons
Gas Tourers TQ and 1st Jason Dorn
Open gas TQ JAson Dorn. 1st Andrew Christie
Next weekend I will be in Tamworth so won't be at Logan as usual.
Bayside 2nd May 2004
Sorry guys I didn't get the full results and qualifying etc as I was in a hurry to leave and get back to continue my camping weekend at Biggriggen Park. I can tell you that Michael Peace did TQ but DIDN"T win the final that honor went to Benny in his Mission. Michael has set himself a new target to win two finals in a row starting next race day.
In stock the racing was as close as ever with several cars finishing qualifying within the top second. Noteably Assassins were first and second in qualifying with the order being Justin Hughes (Assassin) Andrew Lyons (Assassin) and myself (Mi2) third. The final finished with Justin just ahead of me with Ben (Mi2) in third. A really enjoyable day of racing in stock at least.
Meakin/Logan R/C Car Club - Saturday April 24th 2004
Another big turnout at Meakin and a troubled start to the night as the team wrestled with a recalcitrant computer - finally getting the better of it for a 7.30 pm start and reduction to 2 heats and a final. Good to see the guys persevering in the face of it - and the generally good grace from all racers just happy to get on the track.
Nitro 2-Speed: Steve Dennis continues his giant killing ways with the RTR CEN CT4-S runnning away with TQ and the final win. He was followed by Jason Patterson and Grant Watson
Nitro Open: Phil Ward Jr was as usual in fine and fast form with the Mugen and top qualified. After some shenanigans in the final it was Jason Dorn, from Peter Willis with Ward third
Modified: A great 2 heats of modified tonight with the influx of some new and very old faces. Keith Mackrill led the field through qualifying but was given a big fight in the finals by Scott Guyatt in his return to mod with the Mi2 - Keith outlasting Scott in a most enjoyable race. Mark Lowry was a solid third
Stock: All John Perkins tonight with 2 heats of stock class. John was too strong in qualifying and too strong in the final to see off Sam Singlton and Bob Vardy. Look for John to poke around in modified soon!
540: Jayson Clark had the right stuff in qualifying ahead of 19 others, but when the final rolled around Clinton Livingstone got the better of Brad Palmer with Jayson back in third.
Best of luck to all heading off to Rocky this week for the Cup. We're looking forward to another big and competitive night at Logan next fortnight.
Bayside R/C Car Club - Sunday April 18th 2004
A great rollup of 47 drivers with Gas Tourers topping the pops with 16 drivers, stock electric 13, 540 11, open gas 6 that means it is still predominantly an electric club (24 to 22) Actually Gas Tourers are going from strength to strength at the moment eh?
540:
Michael Peace wins an A final!!!!
After holding TQ every week for ages and always coming in second Michael has finally done it - he's cracked the A final win - much excitement. Look out Stock drivers he'll be after that crown next.
TQ and 1st Michael Peace, 2nd Bruno, 3rd Brett Stares.
Stock:
TQ and first -Keith Mackrill, 2nd Anthony, 3rd Heavy.
Ben finally did a 16 lapper in the finals - he was excited - 16 every race now Ben till you crack the 17 - only Keith could get a 17 even though Heavy tried hard he couldn't just make it and Shane was having an off day languishing in the 15s. Bob did 16s every race except the final (dnf) and visitor John Perkins also cracked a 16 in the last heat but couldn't get it in the final. Of the A finalists only Warren hasn't cracked a 16 yet - but he's trying.
Welcome Andrew Lyons to Wynnum and also a big welcome back to Graeme and Steve.
Gas Tourer:
TQ and first Jason Dorn, 2nd Bruno, 3rd Michael Redmond
OPEN GAS:
TQ Barry Hoffman. 1st Jason Dorn, 2nd Phil Ward, 3rd Gavin Lambe
Although there was no modified racing we did have a heat of modified at the end of the day and it was great - the guys that ran in it had no trouble with traction or whatever and enthusiasm is high to try it again as a full meet class. I will need another motor as I chucked a wind on my only modified and I am keen to run mod a bit at Wynnum now (probably run the 19t for a few weeks and ease into it- the Vanguard should be good for it - what's that Keith ?).
Chargers R/C Club - Yeronga - Friday April 16th 2004
Good rollup for a practice night and good racing in most classes, Because of numbers we combined the Masters and the Pro foam classes which in hindsight may have been a wrong decision but unfortunately race administrators are only human and not blessed with 50/50 forward vision.
I ran a new car I've got just for fun and as a customer courtesy car and it turned out to be ok apart from a bit of trouble with the speedie.
I think we have decided to keep Pro as a 540 /control tyre class for teh next series and try and seed the drivers as they enter the 2 heats based on their finish the previous race meet.
Action R/C - Action R/C & Racing LInes Cup (1/12th and F1) Round 1 - Saturday
April 3rd 2004
Finally we did it - we made a start on 1/12th racing and incorporated a F1 race as well. Held on the bitumen quadrangle at Yeronga the event was quite small as expected but quite successful at the same time. The track layout copied closely the 1/12th World Champs layout and was quite tight and technical. The carpet track barriers were a limited success and certainly need some work, particularly on a windy day. But all that aside there were plenty of smiles and plenty of people now looking for that old F1 they put away in the cupboard 5 years ago or looking to the piggy bank to shell out for a 1/12th. Next event we will be looking for a smoother surface. Hopefully 29th May we go again. Big winners were Adam Snook (1/12th) and Brett Ryan (F1). Thinking about including 4wd Mini (the new wave) in 4cell mod and 6 cell stock guise in future events as well - what do you think ?
