14.   What Next?

We’ve covered a lot of ground in this book.  You might not have understood it all, and you almost certainly won’t remember it all.  Let me encourage you to go back to Section 3 and seek to follow the basic guidelines we presented there.  Use this book as a reference, but remember, there is no substitute for practice, and personal experience.  Don’t believe something just because I tell you it’s true.  Go out and prove, or disprove, it for yourself.

Most of all, remember that R/C racing is an enjoyable activity.  I’m not trying to take that joy away by making it all hard work - just to help you to get your car going a little better, and to therefore enjoy it more.  The most enjoyable races for me are those when my car handles just like I want it to.  The search to make every race like that has led me to collecting the information that’s contained in this book.

If you need more help, again let me encourage you - just ask.  Ask the guy pitting next to you, ask the local pro or your club organisers.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this book and I hope it helps you to enjoy your R/C racing more.  I wish you every success in your R/C career.

One final word.  Practice, practice, practice.  And smile.  It’s fun….
